The idea came to us while dining in Japan. Could we apply Japanese craft, attention to detail and innovation to a beer brewed using fresh Australian and new world ingredients?

Could we develop beers and ciders to pair perfectly with our favourite foods in Japanese and Asian restaurants back in Australia?

We have. We can. This is the beer for lovers of Japan.

Our Brews

Yoyogi Japanese Craft Beer and Cider is available in cans and on tap in selected venues.

 

Pale Ale

4.8% ABV 16 IBU

Our most popular and most sessionable beer. Now available in select restaurants and bars. It’s a new world style pale ale that’s both flavourful and fruity, showcasing the tropical character of hops grown in the new world.

Dry hopped with a blend of Galaxy, Wai-ti and Sorachi Ace. Tropical fruit and mixed citrus taste. Passionfruit, mandarin and kaffir lime aromas. The mouth feel is smooth with a dry finish.

Goes well with gyoza and chicken karaage.

Black Lager

3.8% ABV

A smooth and easy-drinking Japanese black lager.

You’ll enjoy a well-rounded malty flavour with some darker chocolate notes from the higher-kilned malts.

Great with Asian dishes.

IPA

6.4% ABV 61 IBU

This is our favourite New World style India Pale Ale, generously hopped with four different American and New Zealand varieties.

It has a complex aroma of citrus and tropical fruit with and undertone of resin and pine.

Goes perfectly with light curries, burgers and asian salads.

Yuzu Sour

3.8% ABV

A thirst-quenching Philly sour bursting with Japanese yuzu juice.

Pocky Porter

4.7% ABV

English style brown porter. Brewed with pretzels in the mash and infused with chocolate. A sweet and salty treat, just like its iconic namesake.

Watermelon XPA

4.8% ABV

Fruited Extra Pale Ale (XPA). With watermelon and hibiscus alongside fruity hops sourced from 3 countries. Rose coloured and bursting with fruit character.

Seaweed Scotch Ale

4.9% ABV

Malty Scottish style ale with a deep amber colour. Nori (seaweed) sheets added to the boil give this beer a salty/savoury umami character.

Our Team

Yoyogi Brewing Co is a broad church of industry professionals with two things in common. We love beer and we love Japan. Some of our team are Japanese. Some of our team are Australian. All of us are devotees of the new craft beer culture that is growing in both our countries.

Our Japanese team brings attention to detail, the traditions of their craft and innovation to the table. Meanwhile, our Australian craft brewers bring a new world attitude to breaking rules using wonderful fresh produce and imaginative ingredients.

The result are brews that are good enough to export to Japan but perfect for enjoying right here in Australia.
